Assistant Professor

Wonmin Sohn’s global health focus centers on advancing climate resilience through nature-based solutions that reduce environmental health risks from flooding, extreme heat, and other climate-related hazards. Her work integrates landscape architecture, environmental modeling, geospatial analytics, and artificial intelligence to support evidence-based adaptation strategies for vulnerable communities. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of addressing social and environmental determinants of health and developing technical solutions. Sohn’s research focuses on predicting climate-related disaster risks and optimizing nature-based solutions across scales, from site design to regional and national planning. She develops practical decision-support tools that inform infrastructure planning, public policy, and long-term climate adaptation, with current research collaborations in South Korea and Indonesia.
