What we believe

CGHE's foundational principles were set by our founding donor, Tachi Yamada, whose conviction that great research should serve all people shaped everything we've built since.

Our Values

01

Equity

Where you're born shouldn't decide whether you get to be healthy. We build research and tools that reach the communities furthest from care first, not last.

02

Urgency

Every day counts. Health equity work moves at the pace of the people living with the problem, not the pace of a grant cycle. We build for speed without cutting corners on rigor or trust.

03

Accountability

We go together. No CGHE project moves forward without a partner at the table from the start. Reciprocity, not extraction, is the baseline for every collaboration we build.

04

Innovation

Breakthroughs require bold thinking. We fund the early-stage ideas that need room to prove themselves, and back the researchers willing to take the risk that others won't.
