Quality improvement and healthcare delivery

Timothy Hofer’s global work focuses on measuring and improving quality of care among vulnerable populations in low- and middle-income countries. His interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of strengthening systems for health and providing technical solutions. His global health work has been done in collaboration with investigators based at the Universities of Birmingham and Warwick in the UK and funded through UK-NIHR with partners based in Nigeria, Kenya, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Nepal. Projects in which he has been involved have focused on carrying out some of the first true population-based health surveys of urban informal settlements to assess health needs and health-seeking behaviors, methods of measuring and improving quality of care in low and middle income settings, and community-based interventions to improve Leprosy and Buruli ulcer care.
