LGBTQ health justice and community-engaged research

James Huynh's global health focus centers on transnational determinants of mental health affecting LGBTQ and Asian/American communities, with a particular emphasis on those within Vietnam and the Vietnamese diaspora. His interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of empowering women, strengthening systems for health, and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Huynh's research comprises two primary areas: mental health intervention projects aimed at Vietnamese and LGBTQ individuals in Vietnam and research capacity-building initiatives with LGBTQ organizations in Kenya.
