Feyisayo Wayas’s global health focus centers on addressing food security, chronic disease prevention, and the social, built, and environmental determinants of health through community-engaged research and evaluation. Her work uses participatory and mixed-methods approaches to develop context-specific interventions and translate evidence into policy and practice that improve health and well-being among underserved populations. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of strengthening systems for health and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Wayas’s research focuses on food security and nutrition, healthy diets and physical activity, climate change, chronic diseases, and the environments that shape health, particularly in underserved communities in low- and middle-income countries. She integrates mixed methods, citizen science, design thinking, systems thinking, evaluation, and transdisciplinary approaches to co-produce actionable evidence and support healthier policies, practices, and environments. She is also passionate about strengthening early-career professionals' capacity.
