Tiffany Veinot’s global health focus centers on the intersection of health informatics and health equity, with particular attention to meso-level sociotechnical interventions that combine human and technological elements. This includes designing, implementing, evaluating, and scaling interventions that improve community living conditions, support social care–health care integration, strengthen family-level chronic illness management, expand healthcare access (including telehealth and transportation), and reduce stigma through social network interventions. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of strengthening systems for health, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and developing technical solutions. Veinot’s research draws on participatory and mixed methods, human-computer interaction approaches to intervention design, and technology evaluation methods, with emphasis on adapting these approaches for new and marginalized populations and settings. She also applies social and behavioral science theory—such as sociological trust theory and administrative burden theory—to guide intervention design and evaluation.
