As the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s first director of global engagement, Scott Riggs’s global work focuses on capturing the essence of cultural exchange for students on campus and those who choose to travel abroad. His interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of providing technical solutions. Riggs envisions a more expansive global education space for students at a local level. Through his programs, he hopes global education will facilitate more empathy, curiosity, and creativity among students.
