Scalable physical activity interventions for children’s health and well-being

Rebecca Hasson’s global health focus centers on advancing health equity by increasing children’s access to evidence-based physical activity through scalable, low-cost interventions that can be implemented across educational, home, and healthcare settings worldwide. Through InPACT and InPACT at Home, she aims to ensure that all children—regardless of where they live or their socioeconomic circumstances—have opportunities to engage in daily physical activity that supports physical, mental, and cognitive health. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of strengthening systems for health, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and developing technical solutions. Hasson’s research examines how implementation strategies can support the adaptation, adoption, scale-up, and long-term sustainability of physical activity interventions across diverse countries and contexts. Working with international partners, she studies how interventions can be tailored to local educational and healthcare systems while maintaining effectiveness, with the goal of reducing health disparities and improving child health outcomes globally.
