Education's impact on family dynamics, cultural norms, and women's health

Margaret Frye's global health work focuses on understanding how changing educational opportunities influence family formation and life planning, as well as how cultural ideals and norms shape health-related behaviors. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of empowering women and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Frye's research explores the relationship between the unmet need for family planning and re-partnering after marital dissolution, with additional projects focused on fertility timing and women's education and work experiences in Ethiopia, Malawi, and Uganda.
