Kajal Mehta’s global health focus centers on the care of patients who have sustained traumatic or burn injuries, with particular attention to the availability of and access to care in resource-constrained settings. She is interested in health system capacity development across the continuum of care, from injury prevention, time of injury, and pre-hospital care through health system treatment and societal reintegration. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of strengthening systems for health and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Mehta’s research focuses on burn injury risk modification and burns care delivery in resource-limited settings to improve prevention, access, and outcomes for patients with burn injuries.
