Farida Bibi Mughal is an impact scholar with the Center. Her global health focus centers on supporting survivors of gender-based violence by identifying effective facilitators and resources for trauma recovery. She is particularly interested in equitable access to trauma-informed, survivor-centered care and support services. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of empowering women, strengthening systems for health, and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Mughal’s research focuses on developing and pilot-testing trauma-informed interventions for survivors of gender-based violence. She developed I-MOVE, a novel tool designed to identify resources and facilitators that support survivors’ recovery, addressing a gap in available approaches for assessing recovery facilitators. Her future research aims to further refine and scale I-MOVE and integrate it into survivor-centered interventions to improve access to care and support services.
