Erica Jansen’s global health focus centers on promoting healthy sleep as an essential resource that should be accessible and achievable for all, regardless of life circumstances or context. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of empowering women and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Jansen’s research investigates the role of healthy sleep in cardiometabolic health among Mexican adolescents and midlife women. She also examines how diet and other environmental factors, including toxicants such as lead and social factors, influence sleep in these populations.
