Research Associate Professor

Bret Hanlon’s global health focus centers on using biostatistics and rigorous study design to evaluate health interventions in communities where they are needed most. He is interested in developing practical and reliable research methods that accurately measure the effectiveness of equity-focused programs in low-resource settings. His interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of strengthening systems for health, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and developing technical solutions. Hanlon’s research examines how health interventions perform when translated from study design into real-world implementation, with an emphasis on ensuring that solutions are sustainable and responsive to local contexts. His work identifies and addresses structural barriers that affect care delivery in resource-limited settings.
